LANARK — In this digital age, Simply Free Church in Lanark, is going old school with its prayer requests.

A Prayer Box has been installed in the church parking lot at 25460 Locust Road, Lanark, in hopes that anyone in the community or driving down Locust Rd. can drive up and place a prayer request in the box.

The box is secure and checked by Pastor Glenn Scott twice daily. Each request is kept confidential and prayed over by the church’s prayer team.

By placing the box outside the church, it is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Paper and pen are provided within the box and requests may be anonymous, church officials said in a press release.

“This Prayer Box is our effort to make it easier for people to experience the blessing that prayer provides, and offer comfort knowing others are praying for them. When your head starts to worry and your mind just can’t rest, just put your prayers down on paper and let God do the rest. Philippians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God,” the release said.
