STERLING – The University of Illinois Extension 4-H Foundation recently held its annual ceremony, online this year, honoring its 4-H youth development program volunteers.
This year's honorees, and why they were nominated:
• Nancy Wadsworth, Lee County.
Nancy exemplifies what a 4-H volunteer stands for. She is always up for a challenge and brings her all to each 4-H event that she helps with. “I do it for the kids” is her favorite thing to say. Lee County is very lucky to have Nancy on our 4-H team of volunteers and looks forward to the knowledge and enthusiasm she will bring to the program in the future.
Karen Temple, Whiteside County:
Karen’s mission during her more than 20 years as a 4-H leader is to provide an understanding of parliamentary procedure, introduce career opportunities, emphasize community service, offer opportunities to learn new skills, and broaden horizons with new experiences. She is one-of-a-kind and we are lucky to have her as a caring, dedicated, gracious volunteer and friend.
Becky Erbsen, Carroll County:
Through her leadership, Becky has helped grow a thriving 4-H Club, served as an enthusiastic Cloverbud judge at the Carroll County 4-H Show, and continues to volunteer in these capacities and more. She goes above and beyond to ensure that her members meet deadlines, have the support that they need, and stay informed about opportunities in the 4-H community.
