SAVANNA – A ribbon cutting will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Savanna Home & Hardware Ace store, 108 Main St.

The store opened Oct. 2 at the former site of the House of Events banquet hall. The Sullivan family, which owns the Sullivan's grocery store chain, felt a definite need in Savanna for a hardware store after the closure of the Savanna Shopko earlier this year, Sullivans vice president of human resources Kathryn Christensen said.

Grand opening festivities will continue from Friday through Sunday during regular store hours, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. Free doughnuts will be available from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday through Sunday, as will special sales, gift certificate drawings, giveaways, and wood carving demonstrations from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
