FREEPORT – FHN Hospital’s new all-hours telemedicine app, FHNow, allows patients to consult providers at any time for $59 per session.
The app is designed to allow for convenient consultation of health care providers when officers are closed or patients are unable to schedule appointment in person. It is not a replacement for in-person visits with a primary health care provider, FHN staff said in a news release.
The app is available for FHN patients and nonpatients alike. FHN patients can have notes from their e-visits forwarded to their FHN primary care provider.
Appointments are available immediately or can be scheduled in advance, and FHNow physicians can send prescriptions to area pharmacies. Lab work, X-rays and other services requiring in-person care are not available through FHNow, and children younger than 3 years with a fever must be referred for in-person care. Support for multiple languages is available through FHNow.
Visits are payable by credit or debit card. No insurance can be processed through the FHNow service. Patients can check with their insurance provider to see if the fee is reimbursable. The fee may qualify for reimbursement from health spending accounts or flexible spending accounts; patients should check with their HSA or FSA provider for details.
FHNow registration is available through the following methods:
