APPLE RIVER – Eagle Nature Foundation will offer a museum visit and Mississippi River boat trip on Oct. 12.
Activities will start with a visit at 10 a.m. to the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium in Dubuque, Iowa. Displays and exhibits will be open, and participants can watch three movies – “The Wildest Weather in the Solar System,” “River of Dreams,” and “Mississippi Journey.”
The group will leave at 3 p.m. to board the American Lady tour boat for a 90-minute river tour near Dubuque. Light refreshments will be served, including light beer, lemonade, soda, iced tea and chicken wings. The boat tour should be end by 5 p.m. The day also will be a celebration of ENF Executive Director Terrence Ingram’s 50th year of selling insurance.
Reservations are due by Sept. 1 for enough seats on the tour boat. The cost for the whole day is $55 for adults, $53 for seniors, and $50 for children 3 to 17 years. Children under 3 are free. The cost is only $25 per seat for those who just want to take the boat tour.
