MILES, Iowa – The Great River Threshers' 43rd celebration will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Jackson County, Iowa community.
All activities, unless otherwise noted, will be at the threshing grounds at 43 Centennial St.
Activities will start at 6:30 p.m. Friday with a parade sponsored by the city, starting at Miles High School, . A fantasy truck-tractor pull will be at 7 p.m., with $10 admission; call Warren Moeller at 563-357-0453 for more information. A food stand and kids' games will be available.
Saturday activities will begin with a 5K run, walk at 8 a.m. at the grounds. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.

General admission to the threshing grounds on Saturday is $5. A blacksmith, displays of broom making, log sawing, and shingle making, a dunk tank, a bounce house and youth mud volleyball will be available. Horse-powered and steam engine threshing demonstrations will be at 10:30 a.m. A threshers' meal will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Saturday afternoon activities will start with a calf show, with a weigh-in at noon and running until 2 p.m. Kids' games, a spelling bee, threshing demonstrations, a pedal pull, an open calf show and "mutton busting" sheep riding will take place.
At 7 p.m., comedian Mike Marvell will perform, while Brooke Byam and The PeOple will perform at 8 p.m.
Sunday activities begin with a pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m., for $7 per person. A community church service will be at 8:30 a.m. at Miles City Park, along Section Road.
General admission to the threshing grounds will be free on Sunday. At 10 a.m., a horse show will begin. Mud volleyball for adults will begin at a time to be determined, and the local 4-H show will start at 10 a.m.
