The Young Leaders are hosting a Farm to Fork on Aug. 26. This is your opportunity to come learn more about agriculture in a fun setting. The evening will kick off with a bus ride from the Lake Carroll lodge over to tour Hunter Haven Farms. Following the tour, we will be busing back to the lodge area, where we will have a multi-course dinner along with a speaker, Kim Bremmer of Ag Inspirations. It is a great evening to learn more about agriculture, enjoy a great meal and tour. Tickets are available by pre-sale only, with all tickets needing to be ordered by Aug. 20. Cost is $50 for a couple or $30 for individuals. It will be an evening you won’t want to miss!

Mark your calendar, as we are having an On the Road program with Kevin Rund at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at our office. Questions are always coming up on rules and regulations for transportation issues. There is no cost to attend, however we do need you to RSVP so we have enough handouts. Please contact our office by Aug. 27 to reserve your spot. Kevin will be covering medical cards, interstate vs. intrastate, UCR filings, and more, much, much more!

We have lots of trips we are currently promoting. There will be preview meeting for two of them at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, here at the office. These will be the two trips we are promoting with Tri-State Travel.

One of the trips is the Misty Mountain Music schedule for April 25-29, 2019. The trip starts off with a stop in Indianapolis at the White River Gardens and a show at the Derby Dinner Playhouse. Then on day 2, we will travel to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, where we will see another show. Day 3 will be spent touring Great Smokey Mountain National Park, followed by a “Shine & Wine” tasting, and a visit to Dollywood. The next day, we will travel to Kentucky and visit “My Old Kentucky Home” and enjoy a final show at the Derby Dinner Theatre. Day 5 will be spent traveling back home.

The other trip we are promoting is the Canyon Country Experience set for late September/early October of 2019. This trip will kick off with the first stop in Lincoln, Nebraska, then a farm and ranch tour in Golden, Colorado. We will visit Utah’s Arches National Pak, and take a sunset cruise. Other attractions on the trip include the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Zion National Park, and more.

Both of the above trip brochures are listed on our website at www.carrollcfb.org. If you plan to attend our meeting on the 30th, please just give us a heads up by the 27th.

We will also be offering with neighboring counties and Lindstrom Travel two other trips in 2019. One will be to the Pacific Northwest in June for 9 days, the other will be to California for a wine trip. We will hold a trip preview on them when we get the info. Don’t forget, we also have the trip to the Rose Parade later this year in December.
