MILLEDGEVILLE – The Milledgeville Community Credit Union will merge with the Cornerstone Credit Union by the end of next month.
The credit union that has served the Milledgeville community for more than 6 decades and grown to 800 members will be part of the Cornerstone network, which has about 15,000 members and $120 million in assets.
The office at 334 N. Main Ave. will remain open and add an ATM.
Cornerstone is based in Freeport, has offices in Sterling and South Beloit, and serves customers in Boone, Bureau, Carroll, Jo Daviess, Ogle, Lee, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago counties as well as Green and Rock counties in Wisconsin.
The merger was approved Tuesday and will be effective July 31.
“The board and staff of Cornerstone Credit Union are excited to welcome the members of MCCU to our credit union,” Cornerstone President Gail Clore said in a news release. “As a community-focused financial cooperative, we will continue the commitment of providing quality, differentiated services to all of our member owners.”
