Highland ag group places at fall program

FREEPORT — A group of 10 Highland Community College Agriculture Club members competed Nov. 3 in the Illinois Post-Secondary Agriculture Students annual fall conference at Lincoln Land College in Springfield.

In a news release, Highland staff said participants competed in agriculture-specific content areas that included general knowledge exams, real-world problem-solving scenarios, goal setting activities and personal interviews.

Highland students from the area who placed or took part are:

Drew Groezinger of Stockton, first in Floriculture Employment Interview, third in Floriculture Specialist Individual. He also was on the first-place Floriculture Specialist Team.

Stephanie Nadig of Stockton, Livestock Production Employment Interview

Nicole Simler of Freeport, AG Education Employment Interview

Shelby Fryar of Lanark was part of the winning Swine Specialist Team.
