Carroll County Farm Bureau At a Glance: Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017

Last week, I mailed out the nut and candy order forms. If you are interested in purchasing any pecans, cashews, chocolate bridge mix, mixed nuts, or more and didn’t get a form, you can download one off of our website, www.carrollcfb.org or give our office a call and I can get one in the mail to you. Orders are due by Nov. 15 to guarantee we have what you are looking for in stock. We will maintain some stock until sold out.

As I hope you are aware, Ford offers a $500 rebate on purchases of new vehicles to Farm Bureau members. Well, recently it has offered an EXTRA $500. For the first time ever, active military, military retirees, recent veterans, and first responders can combine their $500 Bonus Cash with their Farm Bureau $500 Bonus Cash! It’s a LIMITED TIME OFFER! So, if you are any of the above, contact your local Ford dealer or give our office a call to find out how you can take advantage of this bonus offer.

Now that the school year is in full swing, our backpack program has been running for more than a month. What is this? Each week, bags are packed by our fabulous volunteer, Diane, and delivered to the schools. The bags are intended for those students who are food insecure over the weekend. We have been doing this program for more than 3 years now through the generous support of our Harvest for All program and Eastland Feed & Grain, along with various other donations that are received. Yes, this is a bigger issue than we realize here locally.

So, the puppy has now been with us more than a week, almost two. Training has been going great, ... just exhausting, ... and like I said before, adding Maggie has lead to only more insanity! The cats despise her. So that just adds to making everything great.
