In the May 31 edition, I was surprised to find no editor’s disclaimer about the comments made by Ms. Chastity Welch, Carroll County Farm Bureau manager. She flatly says that humans cannot live a physically healthy life without eating red meat. This in spite of the fact that hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, do and have for countless years. Maybe always.
She is welcome to her opinion, but she wrote it as a statement of fact and her position might give her unwarranted influence. A statement after the fact would be better than no statement at all. Please consider this.
